How to set up PPTP VPN on Mac OS X

Prepare

Please get your VPN account information from your VPN service provider.

It should includes:
  • VPN Server Address (usally a host name or ip address)
  • VPN username
  • VPN password

You will need to use these information when setup VPN connection .

Setup VPN connection

  1. Open System Preferences , choose Network
  2. Click + icon at left bottom corner, then select VPN for Interface, select PPTP for VPN Type in the popup window, then click Create button 。

  1. Now we need fill fields with details
  • Server Address - VPN Server Address
  • Account Name - VPN username

  1. Click Authentication Settings ,fill Password field with your VPN password in the popup window .

  1. Click Advanced , check Send all traffic over VPN connection in the popup window.

  1. Click Apply button at right bottom corner to finish the setup process. You can then click Connect button to connect to vpn server .
